Updates

NOTE: Whenever you update, upgrade, install new plugins (especially big plugins that create databases like wp-e-commerce) please take the time to backup your database and files before the update. That extra time used to backup your site can save you alot of hastles if anything goes wrong. We always recommend backing up your database before any upgrades. Personally I backup my sites once every two months.

Upgrading 3.6.x to 3.7.X
When Upgrading to 3.7 from any older 3.6 version, deactivate the e-commerce plugin. Upload the new e-commerce version, and activate. Once activated goto your purchase logs, you will see a red message box on the top of the page asking you to update your purchase logs. Click on the link and follow the instructions, this will help sync your old purchase logs with the new system.
Check all your settings are still intact and you should be ready to roll!
Upgrading 3.6.x to 3.6.10

When upgrading to 3.6.10 copy the wp-e-commerce folder into your plugin directory. If you have made any changes to php files or stylesheets be sure to copy these into your new wp-e-commerce folder. Then remove your old wp-shoppingcart folder (we recommend downloading it to your computer for a backup just in case anything goes wrong). Your done!

Upgrading to 3.6.9
Copy the new files across and replace the old files saving the old files you’ve modified. If you have product images uploaded then do not overwrite the product_images folder or images folder. If you have downloadable products for sale do not overwrite the files folder.

When updating it is important that you do not overwrite the entire images folder. Instead you should copy over the contents of the new images folder into the existing images folder on your server – saving all the existing product images you may have already uploaded.

There are also four new images that you need to copy over. These files are order_bottom.png, order_down.png, order_top.png, and order_up.png – you must copy these files into the existing image folder on your server to ensure that the new product ordering feature works.

If you experience database errors try de-activating and re-activating your plugin and searching through the WP e-Commerce forums.

Auto Updates

Auto Updates from WordPress are disabled in current versions of WP e-Commerce and will stay disabled until WordPress offer plugin developers (like us) the ability to protect your modified files. If you are using a version of WP e-Commerce that does not have Auto Updates disabled you should do a manual update to the latest version to preserve your files and modifications.
