I’m pleased to annouce that a new minor update is due out sometime tomrrow. This release includes the following noteworthy enhancements.
Thumbnail Images
We overhauled the thumbnail image management. Unfortunatly our last update gave you some new functionality but it also removed some existing functionality by mistake. This udate returns the ability to custom resize your thumbnails and even replace them on a thumbnail by thumbnail basis.
PayPal Address Override – fixed!
Address override allows override of payer’s stored address. In otherwords when your customers buy something from your checkout and enter their address details in your form then that address will be used in your PayPal purchase log.
If you don’t use address override then PayPal will automaticly replace the address from your checkout page with the address saved on the buyers PayPal profile. This functionality was broken in 3.7.5 but is now working again.
Super Cache 2
The WP e-Commerce Plugin is now 100% compatible with Donacha’s WordPress Super Cache. WP Super Cache is a static caching plugin for WordPress. It generates html files that are served directly by Apache without processing comparatively heavy PHP scripts. By using this plugin you will speed up your WordPress blog significantly.
PayPal Payment Pro
PayPal Payment Pro now works even if shipping details are incomplete. This is useful if you are selling digital downloads and only want to provide Billing details to PayPal.
Categories Widget
Updating to WP e-Commerce 3.7.5 from previous versions broke the Category Widget “on some sites”. This was a problem with how we integrate with WordPress Permalinks. This is now resolved.
Download Beta
Hate the extra digit but love the upgrade. This should be the final update before we release 3.7.6 which will blow your socks off. The 3.7.5 release bends WP e-Commerce through space time to help you sell online.

Just updated from 3.7.5 to 3.7.5.1 beta 1 due to the category display bug but it’s still happening :-S
If I select “Show list of product groups” from the dropdown on the presentation admin page I get the list of categories as expected… but when I click on a category and navigate to it I get just the list of categories again… only way I can get around it at present is to display “All products + list” which is a bit ugly. (see: http://www.rubymae.co.nz).
Would really appreciate it if this could be fixed… as 3.7.5 fixed a lot of extremely annoying bugs in 3.7.4 :-)
Hey buddy. I just emailed you asking for access to the site in question – since we don’t experiance this we’ll need your support on this one :D
done. :-)
State is being displayed on packing slip and in admin order notification email for countries that don’t have states. Fixable in admin-form-functions.php (lines 691 – 700) and transaction_result_functions.php (lines 240 -248)
I fixed by querying WPSC_TABLE_CURRENCY_LIST and checking if the country ‘has_regions’ to decide wether to display state.
Don’t know if there’s a better way of doing it without those extra queries?
Let me know if you want me to email the fix or apply to core (should it be applied to trunk or one of the branches)
Can you please check this change into the trunk version?
Thanks.
Tom, will do. Just want to check one thing…
In admin-form-functions.php line 700 refers to $purch_data['shipping_region'] – Should this actually be $purch_data['billing_region'] ?
Hi there,
I have updated the plugin but am still having issues passing an address to Paypal. Is this supposed to be fixed in the beta release or should i wait for the next alpha update? I have had no joy with the beta version.
The problem is as follows:
Neither the shipping or billing address is carried to paypal. I have played with the setting with no result, it seems to simply remove that functionality from the process. This is a pity because we’d love to be able to use Paypal to print postage labels.
Also if you have Address Override: set to yes then even if you enter card details manually (not signing into Paypal) then it removes them.
Aside from this issue its a great app.
What sort of paypal method are you using?
It works for us with PayPal Payments Pro and Paypal Standard.
Another small bug/issue on the checkout page:
Had a sale last night from Australia but the order managed to come through with NZ shipping… when testing I found that if you change the shipping price country dropdown it auto updates the shipping price… but if you change the shipping address country dropdown, which also changes the shipping price country, there is no update… it’s pretty unlikely the user is going to know they have to re-calculate shipping… this should also just auto update the price.
Also, for future enhancement: You’ll notice I have customised the name of the NZ shipping options… I had to do this as a core hack… it’s be great to be able to specify via the admin sreen what the shipping methods for a region should be called. “North Island” and “South Island” are a we bit generic :-P
Bugs and issues found so far… sorry if I’m repeating myself a bit from comments above :-)
BUGS:
* Displaying the list of product categories is broken (only shows the categories even on category pages themselves)… being worked on i know.
* Billing address details are still not being passed through to paypal from the WPEC checkout page meaning the user has to re-enter everything (is this by design??)
* The cart $ amount is still not being passed back to the transatction-results page from paypel express checkout (displays $0.00). The fix noted in this forum post fixes this issue: http://www.instinct.co.nz/forums/topic.php?id=5655.
ENHANCEMENTS:
* The need to click another “pay now” button on the transaction results page when returning from the paypal express process is proving to be a real issue… when people get to this page they are assuming, not unresonably, that they have already completed the payment and leaving the page without clicking one of the buttons. I see two ways of addressing this issue:
1. Ability to customise the page to better highlight the need to “complete” the payment.
2. Remove the “Pay Now” buttons and just complete the payment… this additional step just seems a little redundant??
* Ability to customise base country shipping titles. For New Zealand “North Island” and “South Island” are a little generic… we for example use “Courier (PO Box and Rural Delivery Standard Post)” and “Rural Delivery (Courier)” as our New Zealand shipping options… but in order to achieve this have had to edit the core wpec files.
NOT SURE:
* All of our products are one-off’s and we’re having real problems with things being added to carts and becoming unavailable (Product “holds”?). Even if the purchase isn’t completed, the session times out and the stock count on the product admin page is still 1 there are instances where it simply won’t add to another cart… the only solution I have been able to find is to duplicate the product and delete the original version but there is no way of seeing without clicking on every product what is affected (very un-scalable).
Will update if/as I find anything else :-) Keep up the good work boys! (and girls?)
Hello,
i don’t understand why we have a function that doesnt work. Tracking ID email. When you enter the tracking ID of a purchase in the admin panel, then click “send custom email” the link does nothing. Will there be a fix for this soon? I have read MANY forum posts about this with no resolution.
Thanks! :)
Can you please check the contents of the “Tracking Email Subject” and “Tracking Email Message” fields on the Admin tab of the settings page.
They were blank by default, if they are blank, the tracking email gets sent with no subject or message.
If they are blank, try adding this as the subject:
“Product Tracking Email”
And this as the message:
“Track & Trace means you may track the progress of your parcel with our online parcel tracker, just login to our website and enter the following Tracking ID to view the status of your order.
Tracking ID: %trackid%
“
Hi Tom,
No, it has all been filled out. Would you like to have a look at the website admin? If so, please let me know where to send the information.
Many thanks,
Doesn’t work with WordPress 2.8.6. At least, for me.
Same problem as http://www.instinct.co.nz/forums/topic.php?id=3272 – just isn’t appearing in the plugins menu.
Shame.
You’re wrong!
The following site and all our test sites are using WordPress 2.8.6 (even though the link in this one says 2.8.1).
WP e-Commerce Plugin in WordPress 2.8.6:
http://apps.instinct.co.nz/wp-2.8.1/
It seems to me that you have not managed to get it working on your WordPress install for some reason. The WP e-Commerce Plugin works on our site and on the official http://www.wordcamp.org WordPress MU website so for us or any of the WP e-Commerce community to help you then we would all need you to provide us with a proper description of the problem including your server type + additional plugins that might be breaking your site via the proper means.
Yup its a shame.
The problem – there are two names for this plugin. One used at the plugins admin, and one used everywhere else. That’s why it wasn’t appearing – I was expecting to see “WP e-Commerce”.
ething fine, but there is a(bug) clash between the ‘price’ display of the variations dropdown and the ‘price’ header tag of the cart widget, because they share the same elment name and so error at the line 124 of wp-e-commerce.js.

Do you have super cache on and configured? Under some circumstances it can add a HTML comment to the end of all pages, including JavaScript that is returned in AJAX calls.
IE cannot cope with this when it happens, and the javascript breaks as a result.
I can’t verify that this is the problem on your site, however, as you have not posted a link to it.
Just installed the Beta on my WP 2.8.6. site (also running the latest WP Super Cache).
As I posted when 3.7.5 came out, there’s still a bug that asks me to “select a shipping method” on downloadable products. Worked fine in 3.7.4, which I’m rolling back to. Shippable products work fine, and postage is added at checkout. Downloadables have the “disregard shipping” box ticked in the product. I’ve got PayPal Standard Payments as my only gateway.
Other users have commented on this issue as well – see the main 3.7.5 release post.
I have not been able to replicate this issue, would it be possible for me to have a look at your site to determine what is happening there or for you to tell me exactly what settings you have on?
Thanks
I set the price levels for flat rate to 0, they were blank, and setting them to blank for a particular area makes shipping to that area impossible.
As they were all blank, shipping to anywhere was impossible.
I am not able to apply multiple conditions to a coupon. It looks like a bug because when I try to add the second condition the button is just dead.
Tuhumbnail problem, now all my thumb nail is gone. how to recover?
