Round 3, Here is 3.7.5 RC1

Hi Guys, yet another week has passed and some great work has been accomplished by the development team. Heres the list:

  1. Currency Settings have been improved. If Paypal supports your currency we have hidden the “Currency Converter” from the Payments Setup page. This is a bug fix / usabilty fix.
  2. Custom Checkout fields are now displayed on the purchase logs
  3. SKU is now displayed in the Invoice, Purchase log details page and on all packing slips
  4. SEO improvements. We have fully integrated with the All in One SEO Pack. We now support page title, descripitons and meta. We’re still tops.
  5. HTTPS / SSL problems have now been resolved

Some known issues that we are still working on:

  1. Paypal Express Checkout is having issues sending shipping details to Paypal. We’re aware of this bug and we’re going to ensure it is fixed for real time launch.
  2. When editting a product ‘Add new variation’ link still requires user to refresh the page before new variation becomes visible, dumb! we’ll fix that one for sure!
  3. Products with variations cannot use the ‘Sales Price’ – we will add that back into the next major release.
  4. Price Range Widget – variations that effect prices do not display in price range widget correctly (Normal Price is used in the SQL query) this is a tough one, we will try sort it out for the full release)
  5. UPS Quotes differ from Quotes on the UPS.com site, we will get in touch with the UPS team and try figure this one out too.

    Hi,
I noticed that you listed that PayPal Express isn’t getting the shipping address properly. I’m on 3.6.5beta2 and I’m having that issue with PayPal Standard. Just wanted to make sure that this is being checked on too. :)

    Thanks!

Paypal Standard should be getting the address information fine, It certainly works with NZ based stores and addresses.

Have you associated the checkout fields n the payment settings page with the values that will be sent to PayPal?

If so, what country is your store based in, and what address are you submitting on the checkout page?

Can you please contact us at dev@instinct.co.nz with any information you can provide.

Sure thing. I’ve just sent an email to dev@instinct with the information you asked about.

    Hi,
    Good Job!

I have only one question, when you say that “We now support page title” you would say that now we can put on the title the categorie and the name of the product?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Can I have an idea about the time for the next major release?

    Thanks,

Hi, I would like to know is you already fix the product categories widget, because despite I’ve read that you already made some changes it still without work properly and it doesn’t appear yet in the sidebar (at least in the 3.7.5.beta2)

    Please let me know!
    Regards

I’m watching Thomas use it right now – we just made a little change to ensure that the HTML validates. So since we’re looking at it working I’m not sure what to say.

I think you’d have to email dev@instinct and follow the instructions because it sounds like a bug at your end as opposed to our end ;)

    Hey guys,
I am excited to checkout the seo.

On another topic I’ve been trying to use the cart with free downloads where the price is set to 0. The issue is that the link doesn’t come through in the email or the final message to the user. I’ve seen others having the same desire to use it this way and the same problem. Is it a difficult fix? If not might it work its way in.

    Cheers -

I cant seem to auto install this version in Wordpress. Will this be added soon?

    • Posted October 14, 2009 at 4:23 pm | Permalink

Assuming RC2 which is due out very very soon has no major bugs (which it shouldnt) then the next major release will be added to WordPress extend before Friday and you will have Auto Install for this version :)

    @Citrine
I think you can only auto-install the “proper” version of this plugin, not Beta Versions and RC’s

    @Dan Milward
I know this is off topic, but is there any news on the Affiliate part of the plugin? I saw this in the docomentation. Is that a seperate plugin?

Can you add custom shipping price for each product ? The one 3.7.4 uses the system wide shipping price only, not able to override it with custom shipping for selected products.

    • Posted October 14, 2009 at 4:20 pm | Permalink

What you want is custom shipping on a variation by variation basis – I’m looking at the conversation you had with Jeff.

In the next release we’ll be overhauling this in a major major way so you don’t have to worry about a thing. The change I’m talking about will make it into the nightly builds before that full release though so keep watching this space (and the nightly builds).

I’m having an issue where the shopping cart widget doesn’t work on the product page, but DOES show correctly on every other page. Thoughts?

Just downloaded this newest version here and purchased gold cart today.

dragged the 3.7 gold cart files into the correct directory /home/foliasmu/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/upgrades/ folder

but my upgrades tab is still saying:
“Opps. You don’t have any Upgrades yet!”

I activated and deactived the e-commerce plug-in as well.

Could you help me get this working?

    • Posted October 30, 2009 at 9:55 am | Permalink

so your saying, you now have:
      A : /home/foliasmu/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/upgrades/3.7/gold_cart_files
      or
      B: /home/foliasmu/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/upgrades/gold_cart_files

The correct way would be B,, where gold_cart_files is the folder inside 3.7 folder,,if you do have it as B and it still aint working let me know.

      best
      Jeff

    Dan,
I’m not sure if the problems I’m having trying to sort out the shipping have been solved in the last fixes, but at present I’ve selected to use the table rate shipping, which only allows cost for UK buyers.
    1) I would like to offer products across europe/US if possible, and I can’t see how to offer multiple charges for shipping this way as I need a scale of charges as offered in the flat rate shipping.
    2) I would like to offer option for customers to have next day delivery – I can’t see how to add this on as an option for them
    3) I tried using the flat rate system, but it didn’t seem as though the US shipping charge would be selected as mandatory when a US address was typed in and ditto for anyone in Europe (ie customers from the US/Europe could select the UK shipping rate) – instead of it defaulting automatically to the US rate.

Has the last fix you did sorted out any of the above, and if not will the next
version provide a solution? Have not actually launched the site live yet, but hoping to do so this weekend, so any quick reply would be very gratefully received. Many thanks. Regards, Carol from the UK.
