WP Wiki Plugin 0.7

Finally after an age, in an internet, in a universe far far away the guys at Instinct HQ who brought you the best damn e-Commerce Plugin for WordPress have updated the WP Wiki Plugin. We hope you enjoy the following changes and mods:

  1. Made some changes to ensure that the edit functionality only occurs for Wiki Editable pages and posts for users logged in as a Wiki Editor
  2. Added the capability to add piped links to pages
  3. Added a new Wiki Settings pages that allows you to customize the number of revisions shown in the front end. Also we added the ability to send emails to administrators whenever there are any wiki changes (somebody could test this for us)

I’d like to see a demo site with this plugin. Where can I “Try before you buy?”

You can’t at the moment. We will eventually create a video demonstrating how to install it, I might do this today or sometime next week.

Hi Dan, this is a great plugin with enormous scope. I’ve been testing with .5 for some time and can make it function correctly but the new features like limiting the amount of post revisions is a great advantage. I’ve upgraded to .7 but now the link on the page for Edit this page, simply returns back to the same pages. The page is editable in the dashboard with the specific permissions. Any advice you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I have the same problem as Cameron, clicking to edit simply returns back to the same page with no option to actually do any editing. I have tried disabling all other plugins just in case there is a conflict somewhere without any luck. Any advice would be hugely appreciated – this has potential to be a great plugin.

I’m also still having the same problem of it redirecting right back to the same page whats going on?

When are you going to update the Wiki plugin for WordPress 2.8?

    Thanks-Kenrick

Is it possible to have wiki pages editable by Admins and Editors as well?

  7. Posted July 24, 2009 at 6:49 am | Permalink

I also depend on a 2.8 version, but I’m also between using this one and ‘WikiPress’
    http://www.rapprich.com/wordpress/wikipress/

Can’t you guys just partner up already and make a WikiPress on par with BBpress and BuddyPress? Collaboration is key! :D

If not then, well, I would like to see some distinctive differences in direction between the two projects, because right now it’s hard to tell the two apart. Whereas Rapprich seems to have made WikiPress his priority project these days though, it seems the focus around here has been almost exclusively WP e-Commerce for quite some time. Maybe it could continue that way while getting together with Rapprich on the side to innovate & iterate in whichever way you can partake?

Hi Dan – Just wondering you’ve any update please on whether you’ll be releasing a WP2.8 compatible version of this great looking plugin (which I’ve not been able to test as am using all WP2.8 installs). No pressure; just interested please.

    Cheers

    Hi Richard,
I don’t know what the problem is, but I am using Wp-Wiki on a variety of sites that are running WP 2.8.4,,, could it be a plugin conflict? or a server issue? Plugin conflict is more likely if you use plugins such as role scope, etc,,,

Thanks jghazally. Much appreciated. I’ve now got it working on local and live WP installs.

One problem I’m having, though, on both sites, is that the revision links that appear below the wiki-editable post (when admin or a wiki-editor is logged in) do not in fact show the revisions. Clicking on the revision links does nothing. Is anyone else having this problem? I’d love to get that issue resolved, because once that is done, the plugin becomes extremely useful.

    Cheers
    Richard

Awesome plug-in! So glad someone is doing this!

    One comment/suggestion/question:
    - I would like to have users register themselves and add comments only to the wiki. Right now, if I set the new user default role to “wiki editor,” the new registrant would be able to edit other posts + pages, moderate comments, etc. I want a new user role with limited functionality: just to edit the entries marked for wiki.

Is this possible? I would be so willing to pay for this feature! Please email me if you guys can handle it!

    Thanks!

Any chance to have a wiki plugin compatible with WP 2.9.2 ?
I’ve installed your module but I’m unable to edit any.

When I click to the link “This page is wiki editable click here to edit this page. ” I can authenticate but just after I return back to the same page. I’m unable to edit anything

    Thank you
