First of all I’d like to say that there might not be a Beta 4 (fingers crossed) but that depends on how much feedback we get on tonights Development Version over the weekend.
Also feel free to visit our development sites that are both using WP e-Commerce.
Until we officially release WP e-Commerce 3.7 or Beta 4 our reccomendation is to use the latest Development Version of the WP e-Commerce Plugin on a new fresh WordPress 2.8 install.
We’ve also updated the Gold Files so please download them using the links contained in your purchase receipt to ensure everything works properly.

However, I bought the Gold/Grid earlier this year and wanted to update the 3.6.12 (stable) to eliminate a Thickbox problem that was occurring with 3.6.12 and WP 2.8.

About to embark on a bit of testing with the latest combination of WP 2.8 Beta 1, WPEC Beta 3 and the latest gold files.
Beforei forget, I’ve spotted a teeny tiny missing space on the “view all plugins” screen with WP, were it reads “Click here toUninstall” – it’s just optics really, because the link is provided.
So now I’m trying to put the gold files into wp-content//uploads/wpsc – but I can’t, because the owner is “apache” and not me – so I haven’t got permission to do so, or in fact change the permissions… In fact, the entire /uploads/ folder is owned by apache.
Could you point me in the right direction?
Your web host can change this for you. I had the same issue, forgot what caused it now. I called them and they made the change, all was good.
Whoaaaaa interesting, Dan hey i think this is a new bug from night development, i installed and i the same as him i got “apache” owner crap so what i’ve done is rename de “uploads” to “__uploads” and create again the “uploads” and create all folders, (because i couldn’t upload my Gold Cart) but i guess this maybe bugs the installation so now i will try to uninstall cart and reinstall it so i can check if the folders “apache” crap is messing around with WP-EC and i have 2 different host sites and the same, hummm let’s find out what’s happening… and WTF i can’t delete “__uploads” folder cause “apache” is the owner…

I’ve had a quick play in Plesk and could indeed change the folder and file permissions to my user. But like Benjamin suggested, it’s probably a bug.
Just another thought…
the /uploads/ folder isn’t actually created by WPEC, but by Wordpress. I bet WPEC only creates a subfolder and inherits the top folder’s permissions.
In which case, it might be a Wordpress bug.

Shipping is a bit fiddly.
I want to use the UPS calculator.
1. I can only get the shipping selector for UPS to show up if I select both weight based & UPS.
2. If I select UPS alone, it doesn’t show up.
Also, how come ‘P&P: $0.00′ is listed if the local shipping is set to 0 for a product. Perhaps I don’t understand what P&P is.
Hmm so you’re saying that UPS will only activate in the admin if you activate weight rate shipping first?
Also P&P stands for Postage and Packaging. We’ll change this soon to something more obvious.
In the admin, I can select UPS only and it seems to fine in the admin page.
The problem is on the checkout page.
My test site has one product, 10 lbs, and is set up for tax in Colorado and UPS shipping.
No shipping options show up on the checkout page.
Also, the tax seems to be stuck to Colorado tax no matter what billing or shipping address I fill in.
You might consider offering an option NOT to display P&P on the display of each individual item…..with a flat-rate shipping charge, even listing P&P as 0.00 on each item is unusual and unnecessary. And cluttered. My two cents.

Glad you guys are working hard and so quickly, but I really am missing any changes on this latest update. I completely removed all my tables and deleted all wpsc files, and then did a complete fresh install. I have not upgraded my wordpress to 2.8.1 but will do that next. I still do not have multiple image uploader working, and your cropping tool just gets stuck in the process, but that could be my database.
I have not tested anything else because the selling point of your plug-in has really been an easy multi-image viewer and ability to upload. Example in the old wpsc plug-in on wp 2.7.1 is

Hi guys, I’m coming up with a huge issue with shipping…. Say I want to offer free shipping on certain items but not on others, I’m not seeing a way to do it. I want to use only table rate shipping for all my accessories but I’m going to ship all the guns for free. I don’t see a way to have it exclude shipping on just the guns.
Any suggestions or is this something that can be included for consideration?
I believe there is an option when your editing a product called
‘Disregard Shipping for this product’
I tried using that but it only worked when I had flat rate activated… I’d like it to disregard shipping when it is a table rate item….
I did a total fresh install of wordpress upgrading to 2.8.1 and put in your latest beta plugin 3.5, and what a mess. I think this is a 2.8.1 issue, but the visual editor doesn’t have any visual just blank boxes that you can click on and they work, but have no idea which is which. Also, no images show up after you upload them and no errors are reported.

I solved all my wordpress problems and did a new install of 2.8.2 and your latest e-commerce plug in and downloaded again goldcart files. I have all the payment options with different choices of market or ishop which still does not seem like a big difference. However, I still do not have the ability to add multiple images and have looked through your working test site and see that you do have them working in the gallery section. I want that to happen for me and have checked all my previous settings and exactly the same as my 2.7.1 which works perfectly.
Do you have directions or something I should be looking for in my wordpress set up or database because I am missing it. Beyond saying it is working when it is not for me could you please put new directions somewhere for the goldcart multiple image loader.

Well I am back writing again, and still waiting for the other fixes, come on multiple image uploads. Anyways, your tax area only allows for a three digit input one being the decimal, but there are a couple of US states that have 4 or 5 digit tax codes such as Missouri with the 4.225% and New Mexico with 5.375%.

your guys test site for WordPress 2.8.1 might have an error.. on the shopping cart to the left when you add multiple items of the same type it counts that as 1 item instead of however many you added… so if you r planning to purchase 3 of the same item it only shows “1″ as the number of items in your cart..

I have just updated from 3.6.12 to 3.7. Generally, most things seem to work as previously. Only two issues: 1. The shipping is not calculated, although I have not changed anything in the settings. 2. The fields for manual and for credit card (PayPal) payment are both labeled “Credit Card”. (But the programming / actions for the payment gateway are OK.)

This comment relates to the latest development version of WP E-Commerce. It is also true for 3.6.12
Under variation control, I strongly believe there should be an option to set an amount for flat rate shipping. Right now you can set a weight (under ‘More+’), but you can not set different flat shipping rates.
For example, variations on could be:
* Large (flat rate of $ 10)
* Medium (flat rate of $ 8)
* Small (flat rate of $ 5)
Supporting this would make flat rate shipping and variations more practical together.

I am using Wordpress ver 2.8 and I just upgraded my WP e-commerce to ver 3.7 Beta 3.
The Buy Now button now works like a charm but I am now unable to edit my products even though the option is there. When I clicked on Edit the right side just didn’t load. The text editor icons on the right are also missing.

Still not computing shipping prices correctly (flat rate), nor does it pay the correct price to PayPal.
WP 2.8.1 ecomm 2.7.3 When you set a special/sale price it displays the difference between the original price and the sale price and displays that same value both crossed out and as the new price.
Orig price $10.00 Sale price $7.00 in products settings. Displays as $3.00 & $3.00.

If that folder is not created automaticaly then your server needs tuning – talk to your web host administrator :)
Is there a way to add like comments to each product we upload – like users can add their comments or reviews about that particular product. Like rate it. That would be KICK ASS

Whoaa check the site again, now it’s like full working with some minor issues, but i want to ask you i’m using [add_to_cart=4] and i changed the total design of the button but i don’t see the “Fancy Purchase Notifications” is this cause i’m using in the post? thanks in advance and hope Beta 4 soon, problem with folder FYI must be solved by creating them “manually” otherwise is going to create by “apache user” and it’s going to fail in the use of it, so this is a quick fix for it.
Are you testing thoroughly with IIS and SSL? I tried to activate the beta 3 and I am getting 2 errors. I am using Windows Server 2008 with IIS 8 and SSL is on for the whole site.

We’ve fixed the debug bug by the looks of it. We need people like yourself to help test on IIS because we focus mostly on apache running on linux. Right now we don’t actually have access to any IIS servers for testing.

aha! I’ve had two issues with the gold cart files. The first is simply in the naming of the folders. When the download unzips, it is in a folder called gold_cart_files. Initially I uploaded this with no effect. There is ANOTHER folder inside this called gold_cart_files – which is the correct folder to upload.
The second point is with the latest beta (as per this post). The read me says upload to …/wpsc/upgrades, but actually there is ANOTHER upgrade folder inside this – which is where the files go, so: …/wpsc/upgrades/upgrades.
It took a lot of banging with my hammer, but now it works. Please amend your read me’s!

We are using WP 2.8 and WP-Ecomm Version 3.7 Beta 2, Gold Cart
Problem: Everything’s fine until we try to checkout. Tried several payment options including Authorize.net, Paypal Standard, and Manual Payment.
When we click “Make Purchase” the checkout screen just refreshes – never gets to the next step.
Am I missing something in the setup? We can’t get past the checkout page.

I just installed Beta 3 and it’s doing still doing the same thing. Select a product, go to checkout, fill out all fields, hit Make Purchase and it stays on the same page. Help! what am I missing?
I’m having the same issue. Paypal seems to work, but selecting Google checkout as the gateway on the checkout page, just refreshes the page. Help?
OK, correction! The beta 4 goes in: …uploads/wpsc/upgrades.
The new grid files (and not the grid view folder itself) then goes in: …/uploads/wpsc/upgrades/gold_cart_files/

For iPhone or iPod touch shopping, as expected, former touchShop gold cart module don’t work on WPEC 3.7 (tested on WP2.8.2 + WPEC 3.7b3 + Goldcart 3.7) because new shop theme organization in php scripts… To be compatible with xili-language plugin and xilitheme select plugin, I will wait WPEC b4 or b5 to suggest to Thomas where to add hooks (action or filter)…

That’s very easy Sam, just go to the Languages Directory and Start To Translate it again, i did it with spanish it’s so old i got the same issue but i rename for example: EN_en.php for SP_sp.php , and remember to install the new GOLD version you need to put your cart in “wp-content/uploads/wpsc/upgrades/gold_cart_files/” and VOILA it will be working again…

Of Course, you just need to translate the text that you need in Itlian, for Example what i do is “look for the phrase i need like “Products” and Change it to “Productos” but i don’t change the “Variatons, Marketing, Settings, because that’s in admin panel and i don’t need to translate it… have a great day.
In the shop i would like variants in the price and when I change the number it doesn’t work, paypal still gets the 1.95 price.
Can you write a code that can allow to the customer to set the price? like did radiohead sometime ago.
OK – variations in the admin appear to be working now – however when you change a variation quantity on the front end – the amount above add to cart button does not self-update. If you click add to cart the correct amount is added as a line item – but the amount showing under the product has not changed from the defaul variation amount.

Hi Guys, I have a feature request that I think is going to be pretty important in terms of search engine visibility. Right now, I’m having a hard time getting some of my product pages indexed in Google. I think that a significant portion of this is the lack of unique page titles and descriptions. Is there any way that the cart can pass the product name as the page title or allow us to specify a custom product title and description?
Is this something that is possible and I’m overlooking it? Anyone else having issues with this?

Five hopefully easy questions for a first-time wp-ecommerce’r. A few hiccups getting this sucka launched.
Fresh install of wp e-commerce 3.6.12 on WP 2.8.
1. Where can I adjust image padding in wp-ecommerce? My product thumbnails are overlapping the product name, text, price text. So many CSS files, can’t sort out where to edit and to what. (Assuming its image padding and not something else.)
2. The lightbox just spins and spins and never shows the full product images when clicked on. I tried installing Shutter Reloaded and NextGEN and I can then get the images to display, but the trasparent black overlay never disappears after you click to exit. Would like it to work without Shutter Reloaded or NextGEN. Ideas?
3. I have no “Verify Your Order” page in the “Checkout” drop-down. The page doesn’t exist. How can I re-create it?
4. Settings buttons (to the anchors) don’t work in 2.8. Have to right click the tab to open in new window. Is this fixed in a dev release? I’ve been upgrading to the nightly WP beta releases, btw.
5. Where is the CSS that’s creating the bold blue links in the categories/brands sidebar widget? Need to change that.

Hi Dan i’m working with latest Development Version, and Great, now the Categories Pictures are working, so Grid, so List view, but in admin panel you can see two “upgrades” the old one and the “new one” “new one it’s like not sync with the already gold cart” i tought it’s for that, to check the alreay installed plug-ins, and i’m using the cart as usually but check the products, when i click on them the picture appears on the text, and that happen when i installed the new development, check it in here

All works like a charm, but for some reason the shipping (by Weight) is sticky… meaning if I change number if products which weigh ounces or pounds it makes little difference. When I get a clean browser, all works fine. WHen I change the number of products, shipping is stuck at the number it remembered last.
Also, TAX by US state is not picking up CA tax I specified in the by state tx table of 9.8%.
I am also planning to buy the few upgrades but I need to contact someone before I do the buying. Want to make sure it will work what how I need it to work. I would greatly appreciate a note with an email I and fire off to someone at Instinct.

I think this issue is related to Gold Cart, it appears when i do any search on the store:

What I’d like to see is a working integration with WPML ( http://wpml.org/ ). This method of providing multilingual websites should be adaptable to wp e-commerce. I’d be happy to help out on translating.
Also I’d like to be able to make exceptions and offer discounts with the shipping rates. I’d like to be able to offer customers from my own country free shipping on orders over €50,- but at the same time I need to charge shipping costs for all the other customers on my continent.. This seems impossible right now but will make it a lot easier for shop owners to market their products..
