Improvements to expect in 3.6.10 (Due Monday / Tuesday NZT)

We have been very very busy working on the WordPress e-Commerce Plugin. Essentially these are all fixes and not new features – all the fancy new features will be coming to 3.7 which would be released in due course – if you’re lucky (and we get enough support from the hard core testers) 3.7 RC1 could be ready in a couple of weeks.

If there are any bugs in 3.6.10 we will fix these and release a 3.6.11 in between now and the 3.7 release.

What we’ve done:

  1. UPS improvements (additional options added to admin screen)
  2. We changed the mysql database encoding to UTF General (same as WordPress) to handle all languages
  3. We scraped our own mailer script in favor for using the WordPress WP_Mail() function
  4. Search has been improved to search Custom Meta + Additional descriptions
  5. Fixed a bug with SWFuploader, now you can upload images with extensions that are in caps i.e. picture.JPG
  6. If no payment gateway is selected your site won’t break when you are testing. The default gateway is now manual payment / test gateway.
  7. Price Range Widget now sorts properly
  8. Screen Options fixed
  9. Product Variations now properly supports Stock (nice AJAX solution)
  10. Pagination bugs are fixed
  11. Sales Page UI has been tidied up

What we’re still working on:

  1. Removal of unused files
  2. Default Plugin folder /wp-shopping-cart/ changed to /wp-e-commerce/ to support auto install
  3. Zip code error message moved to under shipping options
  4. UPS now changes to freight based shipping when total weight is over 150 Pounds
  5. User Interface tweaks on add / edit product page

Have a nice weekend – keep watching this space!!

I almost forgot to ask. Are we missing anything else minor and suitable for the 3.6.10 release?

I tried 3.6.10RC, there is still problem in product management page where I cannot use the filter button to select product categories. I try duplicate the product no duplicate was created.

and I use 2.6.5 to test it.

Hi Dan, seem that new wp2.7 installation on the dev and new upload 3.6.10rc1 working fine without problem.

anyway I noticed that in product management, editing product > advance option > there is no display in front page option.

I don’t know if it’s a minor or major thing but the ‘details’ view on the Sales page doesn’t show (and calculate) the coupon discount. The total price is right in the table when you enter the Sales page but when you click on details it’s not even mentioned. This is also the case in the Purchase Receipt and Report

Will ya not include the IP field into the ‘Customer Details’ Log…???…

Sure ya will… Ah Ya will now…

    Go on… Go on… Go on… Go on… Go on… Go on… Go on……. Go on… :)

    Wow… this looks great…!!!…
You must have really been put some hours in… It’s really appreciated…

Yes… if you can keep going until we have a really solid release… then you’ll be freed up to do whatever you want with 3.7…

With a solid release to fall back on… you can take the next version anywhere you like… ;)

Any chance of sorting out the paypal shipping address mess (as discussed in http://www.instinct.co.nz/forums/topic.php?id=3208) before 3.7?

Hi, Installed and tested on WP2.7 , works fine except some little stuff.
Product sales shows the new price 2 times instead of old price overlined and new price.
When I upload a picture and choose another picture for thumbnail, doesn’t work, I have to edit the product, then reupload the thumbnail and then it works.

Any chance weight-based shipping can be fixed in the near future?

Ok now I am interested that you have finaly carried out “database encoding to UTF General” I was holding out for this, now it should work for what I need. Thanks for all the hard work that you have put into this. ATB George

    Hello,

I’ve been using wp e-commerce now for several weeks and I’m running in to bugs everywhere. Table rate product pricing and product variations pricing and stock are just a couple. If these have not been reported I’d be glad to document what I’m running in to. If they have been reported, can anyone tell me if there is an estimated date these will be addressed?

    Thank you!

    Hey Guys,

Great work on the new release. It worked like advertised for me and the upgrade went smooth and had no troubles at all. It is nice that you converted this version over so there can no be automatic upgrades, SWEET!

Thanks and keep up the good work!
