It looks like we may have fixed the problem with the Affiliates Plugin.
What you need to do is the following:
- Download the latest Gold Plugin Files (follow the link on your original receipt)
- Download the Affiliates Module if you have not already
The problem was not with the Affiliates Plugin but with the Gold Cart itself. Functionality has been added to the Gold Cart files to handle the Affiliates Plugin. To activate the Affiliates Plugin simply place the affiliates file into the <code>gold_cart_files/</code> folder.
If this does not work (and it happens to be our fault) then each and everyone of you can come up with a humiliating thing for Dan to do… and within reason I’ll do it (remember I’m a soon to be married man!).

I followed the link on my recipt and redownloaded the goldcart, and then I redownloaded the affiliate beta file and I still get this error message :(
Hey dan… when is the big day…???…
I’m sure we can think of something…???… ;)
I’m getting married on the 28th of Feb… *gulp*
We’ll test this some more asap. I’m sorry it has not worked for you yet…
congratulations Dan
congrats DAn
28 th of feb? and you know Dan, is my birthday…
perhaps, next year we can celebrate together :-)
KaitlynMarie; Hmmm. Are you using the latest verison of the gold cart?
If not then that would explain that particular error message.
Ciao,
Dan
if the link in my receipt provides me with the latest goldcart version then yes, I am using the latest version.
Hi… can anyone assist? I have installed the latest version of wp e commerce, purchased and installed the gold cart, and the Affiliate module which is what I am particularly interested in getting running on my blog.
When I select the affiliate option, I get the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpsc_affiliate_now() in /home/wwwcode/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/gold_cart_files/affiliates.php on line 34
Is there a step I am missing? Do I need to also purchase the membership module? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Jeff
Jeff,
Unfortunately I don’t think this module works with *any version.
I bought the gold so I could get this to work. Wish I would have read this first :(
Any idea how to fix this error?
Fatal error: Call to undefined function affiliate_text() in /home/fitness/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/gold_shopping_cart.php on line 23
Okay I think I might have fixed it.
Above line23 of that file I added…
include(’/path/to/your/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/gold_cart_files/affiliates.php’);
Tada it works in the admin section now.
Now stupid question. How does someone sign-up now to be an affiliate?
Just register yourself with an affiliate network. You can contact for example: Commission Junction, AzoogleAds etc. After the approval you are able to choose products to promote
Good Luck!
I want to have a go with this has anyone got this running smoothly?
Good work on the new version 3.7 of the cart Dan and the boys finding it much better than 3.6.12. Running smoothly on wordpress 2.7.1
Has anyone tried this:

Would love to hear some feed back on it.
I can’t seem to get any version of the affiliates module to show up in any way on the dashboard. I even tried it with the latest WPSC 3.7.5 beta. I am wondering if this is a WPMU issue… Any updates on when to expect the release of the module, and should it work in MU?
I have installed the latest wordpress blog 2.8.6 and 3.7.5 plugin with Gold Cart.
I follow the instruction to upload the “gold_cart_files” folder into /wp-content/uploads/wpsc/upgrades/
and also uploaded the “affiliates.php” file into /wp-content/uploads/wpsc/upgrades/gold_cart_files/
I tried to deactivated the plugin and reactivated again but still cannot find the ‘affiliate’ tab or link in the admin panel.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
Hi, what is the development status? Is it still in beta?
I would be interested in such a plugin but then I need to be sure it’s functional.
