Here are some of the things we’ve done to improve the SEO of your WordPress e-commerce site. Of course this assumes you already have the WordPress e-Commerce Plugin installed.
1/ Based on recommendations from David Westbrook at Dew Point Productions the WordPress e-Commerce plugin integrates with the WordPress Updates Services – in the same way the world knows you have done a blog post the world also knows about your new products.
Update services are powerful tools that let other websites and people know you have updated your site. You can read more about Update Services on the WordPress website.
2/ Interfacing with WordPress Permalinks was an obvious one. We decided to do this because we like to follow suit – if WordPress does something in a particular way then we normally do it too. Permalinks enhance your site by creating search engine friendly URLs for example instinct.co.nz/?p=N vs instinct.co.nz/contact-us.
3/ Google Base is available for shop owners that want Google to really know about their products the minute they add them to their site. Google Base is a tool that lets you add content to Google to make it easier for people to find your products online via the Google Product Search website.

Thank you, thank you, thank you – and I don’t mean for the props, though those are appreciated too. This will really help shop owners to promote products via search.
Does one need to update to 3.6.8 RC2 to get this feature?
Based on your title SEO part 1 can we assume there’s some other seo / sem enhancements coming?
Is it possible to add the category name to the page title? Sometimes you get duplicate titles if the product belongs to more than one category.
A good site! What is the name of u theme? I want the same)
This site runs using Thematic. A framework by Ian Stewart… the link is in the footer of our site :)
These features are all included with RC3 which is available below:

We will upload this properly tomorrow so that it is the main download from the WordPress website.
First let me say thanks for a great plugin, I am currently using RC1 and have been testing RC3. I look forward to RC4 and that is when I’ll upgrade. I also hope to upgrade to gold soon after the first of the year.
I was unfamiliar with google base. Is this notification automatic via the plugin? And do I assume correctly that we will need to sign up for this service through google to take full advantage of it? Thanks again for your hard work.
Hey. Thanks for a great product that FREE. However, I am seeing a few niggly little bugs which are ruining it for me! For example, permalinks don’t seem to work. I am using the ’show_cats_brands’ function in my sidebar and I just get a blank page.
Also, once I add a third variation to a product, the pricing list disappears and I am unable to specify different pricing. I have tried fresh installs of 2.6.8 RC1-3 on WP 2.5 and 2.6 and still get these bugs. Are these known issues? I am developing on a Win2k machine and will be deploying to a Linux environment.
Again, thanks for everybody’s hard work in getting a great, free product on the market.
Очень понравился ваш блог! Подписался на rss. Буду регулярно читать.
