WordPress e-Commerce Dec 4 2008

We are working hard to get the next WordPress e-Commerce Release Candidate out of the door. Making adjustments to cater for WordPress 2.7 Screen Options broke some CSS in WordPress 2.6 but even as I type these are being worked on. If this has effected you then my apologies – the next version is going to be worth your wait and I fully recommend WordPress 2.7.

On other news we have started work on another top secret plugin. I can’t tell you what it is yet but we are collaborating with Harley from Baffle Inc and Jonah from Coyote Web Solutions to bring you the next best WordPress plugin.

That’s great… I sure hope that the e-Commerce solution gets fully developed and fixed before you start working on other secret projects…

I don’t understand what you’re thinking is here. You have a fine product in WP e-commerce, but read your own forums and the posts that dot the internet. This plugin is the best on the market but it has never reached gold status. It’s buggy, breaks frequently and causes lots of frustrations. I strongly urge you to put your next project on hold until you get wp e-commerce right. The fact that it’s ok to good but not great leaves room for someone else to pick off the lions share of this market and that would be a shame since you’ve obviously put a fair amount of work into this. Spend the extra time to move this plugin from bronze to gold status.

Yes, I agree. I have read recently that multitask working doesn´t really function, you have to finish one project to the bitter end until you reap the benefits, and then take up on another. Although I do suspect that the other secret project is to do with e-commerce, well I hope so.

Thank you for the hard work. It is best and exciting on the market after all.

    Hello Dan,

Any chance you had a look at the emails I sent you about the pt_BR.php file?
    Still waiting for your contact.

    Cheers,

    William

I agree with some of the posters here. WP E-Commerce works, but barely. It’s buggy and often unpredictable. It could also use a lot of interface help and visual formatting, just take a look at the purchase emails. Please spend some more time fixing the issues listed in the forums before you go off creating another plugin.

I look forward to trying out the new Release Candidate.

Agreed. It is a great plugin, and I dont understand why others aren’t doing more in this market. Probably because it is a huge amount of work that you’ve done here!

Really really great work, and thank you so much!

Work on other projects, by all means, but I have to agree that this plugin does have some er… let’s say “idiosyncrasies” which could use addressing. I was about to suggest that you could perhaps GPL it so that others can help out, and there you are – you already have!! Brilliant work, and good thinking!

    Will you GitHub it?

Wow talk about a lot of comments.

Yes we’re focusing on nothing but WP e-Commerce. Last week we took one day off WP e-Commerce to setup the framework for something else – now that has been done we’ve handed it over to other developers.

@Needs Work Please. If you’re volunteering to help with the admin interface that would be smashing! Actually though I think its getting there – WP 2.7 rocks and I we’ve done a lot to integrate with their design.

I am struggling to make your plugin working at my blog. My best guess is the hosting company (www.1and1.com) I am using is blocking it somehow. Every time I try to activate it I get this error message: Error 500 – Internal server error
