WordPress Social Network: BuddyPress

BuddyPress; coming soon to an Internet near you!

Last week Matt Mullenweg from Automattic announced the acquisition of BuddyPress, a Social Networking plugin for WordPress MU, what does this mean you might be wondering. Well according to the splash page online “BuddyPress will transform a vanilla installation of WordPress MU into a social network platform”.

Although we’re not 100% sure exactly what features to expect we suspect and hope for some of the following goodies:
- better bbpress forum integration
- enhanced user profile system
- messaging tools & friends lists

More will be revealed.
