TradeMe have just launched a new service that allows people to bid via SMS. You can now place bids from your mobile phone, so you never miss out on an auction again. Once you register your phone you can choose to receive alerts when saving an auction to your watchlist or placing a bid. Texts cost 20 cents billed to your mobile. Not a bad little service.
Apprently Telecom are running this service for TradeMe internally – for now.
